Folkland Foods is a rapidly growing frozen potato manufacturer producing premium French fries, tater tots, and specialty potato products for customers across the United States. We are looking for dependable, motivated individuals to join our Packaging team and help deliver high-quality products to customers nationwide.
As a Packaging Equipment Operator, you will operate and monitor packaging equipment to ensure our products are packaged safely, accurately, and efficiently while meeting our quality and food safety standards.
Position Summary
The Packaging Equipment Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting packaging equipment throughout the production shift. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency while ensuring every package meets our quality expectations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up and operate packaging equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to maintain efficient operation.
- Perform product changeovers and machine startups.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and notify maintenance of more complex repairs.
- Verify package weights, seals, coding, and overall package quality.
- Ensure products are packaged according to customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning during and after production.
- Keep the packaging area clean, organized, and food-safe.
- Follow all food safety, quality, GMP, and workplace safety requirements.
- Work closely with production, maintenance, sanitation, and quality personnel to maximize uptime.
Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Food manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to learn and operate packaging equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for production documentation are preferred.
- Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Perform bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive movements.
- Work in refrigerated production environments.
- Ability to safely work around moving machinery.
